Expert Witness

From time to time I have been asked to appear as an expert witness, and I am happy to do that if it is an area I know something about.

I have been working in the IT industry for over 35 years, so I have a general knowledge of many aspects of IT, some of them no longer of much use unfortunately. I am a Fellow of the Australian Computer Society, so I am committed to continuing to keep my skills up to date.

I worked for several years as a computer consultant, often advising vendors and customers about purchasing decisions and about projects that had gone wrong. I have run Powerflex as a software product company for over 20 years. Between them I believe I have a solid background in the workings of the IT industry and particularly vendor-customer relations.

I believe I can claim particular expertise in the following technical areas.

  • Computer languages and compilers (all kinds)
  • Database principles and performance
  • Application performance and testing
  • Microsoft developer products
  • Software product development principles
  • Software testing and validation.

As well as specific IT expertise I gained a considerable amount of insight into the legal process through successfully defending the copyright suit brought against Powerflex through all levels of the court system, eventually to the High Court.

Please contact me if I might possibly be of assistance.

The Powerflex judgment in the High Court of Australia is here, but there are many other links.

If you need an expert in an area I know something about please contact me.
